Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising crossover event that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the formal announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Extra Material

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This patch also adds the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
