Micky van de Ven Double Ends Everton's Run at Brand New Stadium

The Tottenham defender scored on two occasions as Spurs extended their unbeaten run in away games in the top division and delivered Everton their initial loss at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton were undefeated in their five previous fixtures at their recently opened stadium at the dockside location, having departed Goodison Park behind after 133 years at the end of the previous campaign.

This victory moves the manager's side up to third in the Premier League, a handful of points off north London rivals and table-toppers the Gunners.

Everton stay 14th and are half a dozen points clear of the drop zone.

Following a drab weekday performance in the Champions League against the French side, where they mustered a only attempts on target, Frank chose Randal Kolo Muani in attack instead of ex-Everton forward Richarlison.

The new arrival was unable to influence the game before being replaced for the substitute after 60 minutes on the field, but it emerged he wasn't needed in the end.

Centre-back the Dutchman converted into an attacking force to be reckoned with.

Everton analysis: Toffees missing finishing touch

The club's new home had been a fortress, but it appears the novelty may have worn off somewhat and fans flocked to the exits after Sarr's final goal for Spurs.

The end in Everton's winning streak at home will not be a major concern for the manager, but their attacking woes will be.

The forward and the other striker - the Toffees' two established strikers - had scored just a single goal between them before Sunday's match.

And they were unable to add to that poor record on a wet and gloomy evening on in Liverpool.

Beto's performance was summed up when he chose to overhead kick a clear chance from close range, even with having space and time to readjust for a more conventional shot that would have tested the keeper.
